What I really mean is “when is the best time to appreciate your success”?
This will be one of my shorter blog posts. I hate to say it, but there is no definite way to really answer this question. Data can’t back me up here. Everybody’s stories are different for when they felt the breeze of accomplishment blow by them. But for those who have been asking me, I have my own personal answer that I believe can be a huge help. I often coach people on success, and I won’t regularly speak to the matter of appreciating it. So, I want to give you my brief answer today.
You should appreciate your success ALWAYS. Think about how far you’ve come from where you started. Consider the steps it took to get where you are. Acknowledge the fact that you’ve taken steps to better yourself where others have not. So my brief answer is simply: always.
With that being said, success and excellence is a lifestyle, not a destination. There will always be more to achieve. You will always have the opportunity to be a role model TO THE WORLD (I don’t care how small your circle of influence is currently). So embrace that fact that you are successful and you are excellent. Wake up and go to bed thankful for what you have and what you’ve accomplished. Take a break throughout your day to appreciate where you are. You can do this often throughout the day as long as you are ready to accomplish success afterward. Growth can be constant if you allow yourself to constantly grow.
The main point of this article was to let you know two things:
1. Appreciate where you are and what you’ve accomplished regularly.
2. Have the pedal to the metal mentality when it comes to success and excellence.
Never stop either of my two points and you will live a happy, successful life.
Til next time,
